Keddington Lock deterioration December 2010
The winter weather has taken its
toll on Keddington Lock degrading the structure badly. Here are
some photographs of the damage, kindly supplied by a Trust
Members Peter O'Callaghan. The Navigation Trust are looking into
how this damage can be minimised and solutions are being looked
at.

Stuart Sizer & Josephine Clark signing a copy of
their new book at the launch on the 26th May
2006 . 'People & Boats'
is a fully illustrated 102 page history of the
canal and will be complemented by an extension
of the web based history project. It retails at
£8.75 from
local outlets in Louth, including Spencers,
Wrights and the local Tourist Information
Office. It can also be purchased from the
Navigation Warehouse when the LNT Office is
open. It is hoped eventually to place most of
the original research material on the web site
to give more people access to it. It is also
hoped to place most of the original census
records on the site in transcribed form.
The Trust are very pleased to announce the publication
of the new LNT History 'People & Boats'
by Stuart Sizer and Josephine Clark, which
sees the completion of the next phase of our ongoing
history project. There will eventually be further
revisions on the history pages of the web site to
complement the new book. You can purchase a copy of the
book @ £8.75 plus p&p by downloading
and printing the order form and sending it to the Louth
Navigation Trust.

Three Walks
Brochures
The Trust has
published three walks brochures to go with the
original 'Two Churches and a Canal" published last
year. There are two circular walks and one linear -
almost the entire length of the canal. Contact the
office for copies and watch the calendar for guided
walks. Copies are also available from local Tourist
Information Offices and local libraries.
The Louth Navigation Trust are extremely
grateful to Awards for All, for funding the
project and to Josephine and Stuart for their
hard work in getting the book out.

The scheme was funded by the Market Towns
Initiative, Louth Town Council & Lincolnshire County
Council. The Trust are grateful to all the
contributors.
